# what does USE-IT Europe do?

USE-IT Europe is an NGO based in France and is run by a Board of volunteers from USE-IT teams all over Europe. Their role is to protect the consistency and quality of our USE-IT label and keep the day-to-day of USE-IT running. They work from assignments made by the network every year during the General Assembly, build and coordinate partnerships, look for fundings, feed the social media, organize surveys on the city maps’ impact and they represent USE-IT on conferences and at European level. Co-Presidents approve the new maps before publishing and the Treasurers are responsible for the budget of the network.

The Editor-in-Chief is hired by the network to support teams in making their map. She is the first contact for people interested, organizes meetings with them, finds the good supporting people and give them feedback on the content of their maps.

Every year, the network of young teams gets together in one of the cities, where a General Assembly is held, new Board members are chosen and big decisions are made. On top of that, those weekends are great fun meeting each other, following workshops and strengthening the network together.

USE-IT Europe is also responsible for the maintenance of the [use-it.travel](https://use-it.travel) website and the online platform unableing local local teams to create a digital version of their USE-IT map.

Some of the cities are working together as partners in several Erasmus+ projects.
